A pediatric dentist is a dentist who has went on to achieve additional ‘specialized’ training after completing a dental degree. Pediatric dentistry is one of 9 dental specialties recognized by the American Dental association. Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. They provide both primary and specialized oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.
At Newton Pediatric Dentistry, we take the time to get to know your child. At the first and every visit, your child will be treated with a gentle, caring touch because we know how important those little smiles are. By developing a relationship with your child, Dr. Van Orenstein and his staff will begin the building blocks on which good habits and a healthy attitude towards pediatric dental health are formed.
Dr. Van Orenstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is one of a small number of pediatric dentists to complete this additional degree of recognized excellence in pediatric dentistry. Additionally, his two year residency in pediatric dentistry gave him extensive experience working with children and adolescents with special needs, orthodontics, sedation dentistry, state of the art technology, and the most up to date research in the field.
Dr. Van designed the children’s dental office in a kid friendly manner that makes going to the dentist fun! He understands that good experiences at the dentist as a child play an important role in long term oral health, he goes out of his way to approach pediatric dentistry in a positive, comforting, and friendly manner. It is amazing to see what patients can accomplish when they are listened to, supported, and then motivated.
